Rishabh Shatrunjay tap
The Rushabh Shatrunjay Tap (RST) is a significant spiritual observance in Jainism, inspired by the deep reverence for Shatrunjay Hill in Palitana, Gujarat. This sacred hill is home to over 1,300 intricately carved marble temples and is considered the most revered pilgrimage site in Jainism. The main temple atop the hill is dedicated to Lord Adinath (Rishabhdev), the first Tirthankara, whose white-colored idol stands at 2.16 meters high.
🔹 What is Rushabh Shatrunjay Tap?
The Rushabh Shatrunjay Tap is a devotional practice that involves observing Ekashana, a form of fasting where devotees consume food only once a day. This practice is undertaken to honor Lord Rishabhdev and the sanctity of Shatrunjay Hill. The Tap is often observed during significant events, such as the 500th Dhwaja (flag) celebration of Giriraj, as a means of spiritual purification and devotion.
